Dear FBC Brothers and Sisters,
We are going to have the monthly “Genesis” study in the prayer meeting time slot, Wednesday 7:30pm, at George and Vicky’s home. Tomorrow’s topic is “What does it means to be human?”. I believe this is one of the most challenging questions of our generation as our society is making decision that will affect all of us. Questions such as: How should we allocate limited medical resources? Should decisions be based on a patient’s ability to pay or should we guarantee some standard of care to everyone? Who determines what that minimum standard of care is? Who makes end-of-life decisions? Who pays for treatment? Is it ever right to take a life in order to create or to save one? Is it appropriate to use genetic testing to determine whether or not a baby should be carried to term? Is disability an adequate reason for abortion?
We will be watching a DVD on this topic that is part of a series entitled “Doing the Right Thing”. I invite you to come and join us for the viewing and the discussion.
